Default offshore venice la

Fishing has been good off of venice recently. The dolphin are here but they are a day by day fish. you can never count on them being in the same spots for long. The tuna bite has been pretty consistent as long as I have been able to load my well with pogies to bring the fish up. The other good news is the last few trips I got on some topwater fish and was able to put my new hookspit popper rods to the test. So far they have help up well. The popper of choice has still been the frenzy for me.

The fish are ranging from small to large for sure. I have even been getting some undersize fish. Seems like the average day has been mostly in the 30 pound range with one or two in the 90-120 range

I have tried chunking but it really hasnt been productive for me recently.

Also stopped on some grass patches and got some little hardtails for bait one time.

The mangrove snapper bite has been consistent as well to go along with the reds and every day a cobia or three seems to pop up as well.
