You will normally find them in or around water due to what biologist believe is the animal trying to cool itself from the extreme fever associated w/ blue tounge. I remember the '05 outbreak and we found 13 dead in one weekend. But as mother nature does so well, they bounced back.

Hey Poncho, i have a pic right across the river from you and it is a doe that looks as bad or worse than that deer.

I heard the same thing about the outbreak of blue tounge in cameron prairre yesterday from a biologist.

Papa I hunt across from Gary's and they have a few like that one is a 6pt and one doe I'm gonna put my camera out when I get back in I usually don't shoot bucks unless going on wall but if he comes out with rife I will use tag to put out of misery

I think if the state is going to consider this an"epidemic" they need to have people report a sick deer they killed but not require the waste of a tag. They already said an infected deer is pretty much going to die. Perhaps removing the infected would prevent further infection, I'm no biologist JMO.
