Default Robins (not eagles)

how many of you are having flash backs from the days where you pumped the Benjamin the fifteen pumps so that you could get a clean kill??
Robins everywhere on my place.

Robin jambalaya was always a favorite for my uncles when I was a kid.
I had no idea of the big picture.

I can't be the only one

Oh yeah! There everywhere here. Was thinking the same thing. The boys got tired of the benjermins & went to slingshots! I said it'll never happen, they proved me wrong!

Used to have robin hunting tournys...carry some "Tony's" seasoning and matches on me" take a lunch break...breast the bird real quick ....shave the end of a twig...jab twig through the breast....start a small fire....season...and cook the breast for lunch...then go back to hunting our tourny. Man i miss being a kid!

Yep, our old robin hunting grounds is now the Prien Lake Mall. I've even eaten a few mocking birds and meadow larks in my time. Robins are better. I remember one duck hunting/camping trip that one spoonbill and a bunch of robins saved us from starvation. I don't think that our kids or grand kids will ever experience what we did. Probably our great grandparents fed the family with what they killed as kids with a sling shot.

I ddin't have to pump my Benjamin 15 times to kill a Robin.
10 pumps on my old 22 cal. would kill a wabbit.
