Last time it was..."You wont catch one over 5 LBS". Obviously, you are hoping and praying that I don't...and, I may not. However, if the winds are flat and the water is green...you will be a sad lil puppy. I like my chances of catchin' fish with Bruce and D than I would'a had with you.

Salty, You are asking for calm winds and green water in Big Lake.
I wish you better luck then I have.

Well, maybe just the calm winds. The rest will take care of itself.

D, you want me to mail this reel or just bring it when I come over?

I see some rain up in the Beauregard parish area. More muddy water heading down our way... Danggit.

I also went down to Cameron this evening and the water was about 2 ft. below normal low tide. Tides are very very low and the water was chocolate brown in the river around Monkey Island.

Is that why the water's muddy....not just from the wind?

Lots of rain brings down muddy water from up north.
Fresh water flushes out some of the bait too, like swimps.
I saw very few shrimp this past weekend popping on top of the water.
My friend who is a shrimper in Cameron said they are barely catching enough to break even. They are dragging just offshore and in the jetties when the winds are not too high.
The specks I caught yesterday had what looked like very small mullet in their stomachs. No shrimp or pogies.
