My brother fishes a custom 8'6'' rod and loves it. Casts forever woth little weight and keep tension on the hook with little effort. Go for it!

I fish longer rods and enjoy them. They give more leverage and help to make longer casts. Only real problem is the hassle of dealing with them in the boat and home. They are almost to long for my rod box and carrying them in and out of the house, storing them etc you have to remember they are long. I have 8' ceilings in the room I keep all my rods, tackle etc and I store my rods verticle to save room these rods are almost to tall to store that way. Have to be careful carrying them out or you hit things. Otherwise I like them.

Storage was another concern. I store mine inside and vertical as well. Gotta go look at some Monda. Hopefully LCT has some in stock
