well dog's going to have surgery in the morning keep your fingers crossed because i know I will. And he's not going to LSU, would have had to hire a divorice lawyer after paying that much to get Drake fixed with at best a fifty fifty chance of making a full recovery.

Here goes guys; In 2006 my dog had the time of his life, hunting from North Dakota to Lubbock Tx with a friend that has a guiding operation.
He came down with kennel cough in july and I fought it until August but, one night Harley would not take his meds wrapped in peanut butter. After several trips to the local vet and $$$$$$$$$$$$ I was sent to LC and University animal clinic. I took the family to see him friday before labor day because in my heart I knew that was the last time my boys would see him. Dr Loftin would call with updates on a regular basis but, there was never any improvement. The Tuesday after labor day Harley died and it was Dr Loftin who gave us the news. He had been with him all night and was as torn up as we were. His last words were,"Thank You for giving him a chance". Moral to the story; don't get any animal if you can't be there for them when the chips are down.

Get your dog fixed Shawn and don't listen to the BS on this site!!!!!
If you need money, let me know, Iam good for a couple $$.

i just couldn't justify LSU to the wife is what I was saying and dont blame her when I can bring him to someone who sounds qualified locally and have the same risk

My dog T-Neg died while in the care of Univ. Animal Clinic of an incurable
inherited disease, unexpectedly. They didn't charge me a cent and they
also sent some money to a dog disease research fund in his name and sent
us a plaque about the donation in his name.
He was there for boarding between Christmas and New Years while I was
offshore and my wife was at her mom's in North La.
If he would have died while at home and I was at work, I don't know what
my wife would have done. She was very attached to that animal.
They are some great people at Univ. Animal Clinic.
They all knew my dog by name and always make me and him both feel very
welcome when we came in. They did everything they could to help him,
including surgery disposing of him and we didn't get any bill.

I always had an uncle and his lab was his "hunting dog" and nothing else...stayed in the kennel, worked it, then back to the kennel. I just don't believe that's how you treat an animal, I don't think that my wife would argue that I spend an equal amount of time with my dog than I do with her. Truely mans best friend.

my uncles only left the kennel to hunt or train, and I just don't feel that you get that trust and bond from a dog like that. Now don't get me wrong there's play time and work time and he knows the difference. But he enjoys both too.

What I don't like is the guys that leave scars after force fetching a dog from vice grips or other means. There is a trainer in texas that my supervisor uses and his dog has scars from force fetching, I just can't see you needing that much force of course im no professional trainer either.

I have seen a friend use a pinch collar turned upside down.
He pinched the ear against the prong. That is bad enough.
There are other ways to get a dogs attention. It don't take
pliers.

dog did not have surgery, Dr. Loftin said the knot was a swollen lymph node. He gave drake antibiotics and we are going to watch him for a week and hope the swelling goes down.
