I ordered 7,000 rounds from cabela's on Sunday and now think I should have ordered more.

I can't understand the reason they are sold out myself. Looking online people have had trouble finding them since June.

I been looking everywhere also but can't find them either. I stop at Bass Pro every Sunday on my way home from the camp but they've been out, go to Academy 2-3 times a week (both locations in Laf) but nothing there either.

Beggars can't be choosers. Never really put too much worry into what type of .22 ammo I ran, as long as it shot. To me, its just a plinking gun.

Yeah but the CCI ammo is way more accurate...like you said though beggars cant be choosers. Crazy how hard it is to find the most common ammo.

yep, anything that chambers into a rifle that has a magazine just about is gone. The armory, emailed me that they had some 223's in stock sunday morning. the email was at 8 am. Saw it at 9 am. immediately checked them out,and they had already sold out again. Price went from 479 per k to 799 per k. Went ahead and backordered some from cabelas. figured I could wait a bit for them, and if something pops up in between, I can get those too.

This is crazy! The prices, the hoarding, the panic buying!

I hope I am right when I say, everyone needs to calm down and take a deep breath. Lets wait to see what they propose and I feel better since the NRA was invited to the discussion at the White House to see what will be proposed.

True but it is much easier to calm down and take that deep breath when your stocked up.

I am sitting pretty for now and have no need to buy anymore at this time. What I do worry about may seem trivial, but it will be a big problem in most communities. As most of you know, I am part time PoPo and we are required to qualify for POST (state regulations). Most small departments are budgeted down to the penny for the entire year. These prices will have a very bad effect on every department.

We are required to qualify with our duty weapon, our backup, shotgun, and if you choose to carry one - your AR. Our purchasing agent bids out our ammo purchases and he is crying right now. Not good!
