I have hunted over several GSH, great dogs, but need to find a good one, seems they hit or miss dog. Hunted well with my Lab!

I chose yellow pointin Labs it fit what I did most, Pheasants! All my friends from ND, KS, TX and Ok ran same dogs.

I always got invited to hunt, not for my personality, but my dog.

Easy, I've had the pleasure of owning a German Shorthair many years ago. Many have said that God blesses a hunter with one great dog during a life time. Windy was that kind of dog. I haven't owned another dog since. I used her for retrieving doves; teal, mild weather duck hunting and woodcock. She was deadly on woodcock; pointed, flushed on command and retrieved. Hard to find a more gentle and loyal dog that hunts. Had her in a kennel at first but later she became a house member with her own special rug in the living room.
Easy to train, smart as they come with a ton of natural abilities in backing and pointing. Love to have another just like her. Be sure to look at pups from hunting stock! Be sure not to get one that has too much bloodhound features with long floppy ears! I prefer the darker brown on brown spots for concealment reasons. Good luck on your quest!

Yes, i currently own a German Shorthair.....Easy to train and very loyal dog. She is always wanting to please her family.

It has been many moons before i had worked with labs on retreiving and she picked up on it like a pro!

My only issue is my wife adn two boys have made it a house dog. She is a little over 1 year old and is FULL OF ENERGY! Plan on running her daily!

I'll try to post a picture on here, if not PM me and i will send it via email.

Yes, get one and you'll never own another breed.

Todd Pavy breeds a good line, he is in carencro. I've had two brilliant dogs from him, one male and one female.

Smart, easy to train, loyal, camoed out from the factory, fast, agile, love to swim, love kids and being with family, live a very long time, short coat for hot summer, retrieve just as well as any other....
