Cry Venice this weekend - impact of floodwaters?

Have an annual trip planned to Venice this weekend, but of course concerned about floodwaters. Highest flooding in Memphis since the 1930'2... sheesh.

Any Salty Cajuns have any insights on what inshore fishing might be? If the floodwaters all head down the chanel and out the passes it might be ok? OR will the shorelines and marsh be a total washout?

Hate to think about canceling.

Any thoughts or advice?

Just my opinion but, I think you'd be ok through the weekend. The river hasn't really gotten too high yet. Really, it's not much higher, at this point, than it's been in years past and I don't really recall anyone having to cancel trips over it.

Again, I do NOT know the Venice area but, I do know the river isn't all that bad, yet.

I went two weeks ago, launched out of venice marina, it was muddy then and the river was high, went out toward breton Island didn't catch much, If I was fishing this weekend I'd probably fish myrtle grove or toward point a la hatche, Lake P should be good till the beginning of next week.

I looked at satellite images water is piss poor.... Rule of thumb if river is over 12-13 ft in Nola it will be muddy all the way to Breton island , down river will suck to unless it's a strong incoming tide with a south wind.... IMO u will be wasting yer time head west to fourchon or cocodrie the water at the islands over that wAy is clean n the trout r thick I caught over 250 Friday n sat this past weekend

I've read that it was. I talked to the people at Cypress Cove and was told that there IS water over the road in some spots, but some people are driving through it, and others are turning around.
