Default Fresh Bait for VBay/Lafayette

Anybody tried cast netting at Hell Hole or Redfish Point lately? Are the shrimp and finger mullet still there, or have they moved on.

Otherwise, anybody have a good place to buy bait (shrimp/mullet/croakers) in Lafayette or on the way to ICY?

Lol. When I take the kids I call bait shops and depending on what they have and price, I sometimes find myself at rouses for market shrimp. That way if we don't catch or didn't need them, I have shrimp to cook

You can castnet for some mullet, the shrimp will be real small if any. Dons should have frozen shrimp if you dock out of Boston. Delcambre shrimp shops will have fresh shrimp also.

I usually buy fresh from Victoria's Seafood behind Rabeaux's Used Cars off Johnston. They always have a cooler full of fresh shrimp on ice. Most of the shrimp are large but not "Rouse's large". Service is a 'lil slow but the owner looks just like Lucy Liu so I don't the wait. I also buy from Rouse's or at the bridge in Delcambre.

On the corner of 82 and 694 (near perry bridge) they have a bait shop, they sell mullet and shrimp, would not go without purchasing some bait first. The perry bridge is still closed.

Is that Charlie's, the little gas station on the corner?

They opened the bait shop where the old post office used to be. They have a good selection of baits.
