Bounce Heading to Big Lake.....AGAIN

Hey Guys,

I am heading your way again on the 15th. Our last trip of the 4th SUCKED. The wind blew 20 mph every single day. Hoping for a better trip this time. The crabs were VERY active last time. We caught the birds working one day but, they were full of dinks and Gaftops. Has anything changed other than the temperature? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Stick around the channel, fish are deep with the heat.

And the wind is starting to lay, so maybe you won't have to deal with that.

have fun!

Wind blew strong this past weekend every morning. Would lay a little in the afternoon, but made the mornings tough. Was difficult fishing for us. Couldn't find a real good bite. Picked a couple here and there on flats near the channel (like every other boat), but just never got into em. Others did, not sure where - maybe short rigs. Drove the truck down to Holly to see, and it was dirty dirty. Glad we didn't run the boat there. Better luck to you.

Don't know what "beach is on" beach you are fishing. The water I saw around the rock breaks in Holly on Saturday was chocolate milk.

Heading that Saturday and Sunday. I noticed a few guys having a lot of flounder. I am from the Galveston area and we drift shell/reefs for trout. How do you guys fish the channel? Do you just anchor up along the channel and throw back towards the bank or into the channel? Are you throwing shrimp, croaker or mullet.
