Default Anyone fish Johnson Bayou beach today

Just wondering if the water and fishing got any better today with the NE wind still blowing.

Water was very marginal fishing wasn't great. Green water about 1/2 mile off of beach.

Water was stained , pogey was everywhere , trout and reds were busting them but you couldn't hardly get a bite with so many pogies , Me an my lil girl caught one trout all morning.

This afternoon wasn't bad. Guy 3 sets down from me caught a limit on topwater. I caught 3 on top and lost 9.

Lawrence....the areas that are talked about when fishing the "Beachs" are anywhere from 10 to 20+ miles west of the Cameron Jetties.

The areas 12 to 16 miles from the Jetties is where most people fish along the beach.

The nearest boat launch is a couple miles from the outside of the Jetties, so you need to add 4 mile to estimate distance travling. So a trip by boat would be 30++ miles.

Using WunderMap to check.......Winds at 10:45 AM are now 8 to 9 mph out of the NE.

Last night this site showed to winds to be a little stronger and coming from the E or ENE direction.

Yeah. It's 7.4 NM to first set of rocks from the end of jetties. Plus 3-4 from launch by the ferry.
