Default Snapper out of Venice

Can red snapper be caught within the 3 mile state waters out of Venice?

Yes. Take a look at the water depth on the chart. The bold grey line is the 3 mile mark. I'm not saying you can catch huge snapper but you can catch them

It'll be a ticket most likely. Last year they wrote some warnings I think but then started with tickets. Lots and lots of people fish to the 10 mile mark every day there. Doesn't make it right or wrong but there is more safety in numbers. Just drive fast till you get back to 3 miles after catching your fish. Lol

A friend of mine got a ticket about a month ago by the feds. From what he is telling me is the Federal judge is going to dismiss the ticket.

Everything Ive heard is the state WLF guys arent patrolling inside 9nm and they are only enforcing state laws. Just what I've heard from people who own bigger boats than me
