we were also thinking about going in the morning but might have a change of plans from all the rain, we are gonna hit those pits right before Krotz Springs (half-moon) for some sac-a-lait.

Fished the bar pit for a couple hours close to the launch. First 2 casts near the sunken boat got a couple small bass. Plenty bites but all small fish. They only bit in the areas directly in the wind, when I found a protected area no bites. Water still looked good after all the rain and wind.

I crossed the area on I-10 a few days ago. There is a lot of weeds covering much of the water.

I'm going in the morning out of Kern's Landing at the levee. I drive across basin everyday and the water is very muddy on the east side all the way until about 1/2 mile to the levee. There are some protected areas near the levee with fishable water. Supposed to be a beautiful day Friday and will post a report when I get finished.
