Daughters First Time Fishing

I was able to take my daughter fishing for the first time this past weekend. We went to a friend's house for our anual good friday crawfish boil. My buddy has a saltwater "POND" behind his house. Yeah thats right, I said pond. Every year I go down and fish the pond while the mud bugs are cookin. Well even though she was all fired up to go fishing, she lost interest as soon as she got in the pool and didnt want to get out so I went solo. First cast I hooked a nice flounder and third cast another one, both on green gulp swim mullets. Didnt get another bite after that.

Well i was kinda upset that I didnt get to bring her so I decided saturday to bring her and her cousins out there to wet a line. We were using dead shrimp and didnt really get anything, except a couple croaker my bro in law picked up when he switched to a little perch hook. Even without catching I could tell that she had alot of fun and I was glad to get her some exposure to fishing. What really made me proud was that she was the most patient and well behaved one out of her older cousins. I can tell she is going to be a good little fisher and cant wait to get her out there again!

Yeah its fed by a little canal that goes from the intracoastal to a little covert pipe on the south west corner of the pond. I was catching 4 pound trout every cast before hurricane Ike.
