FlagUS 150 on a 17' wellcraft

What do y'all think about a 2 stroke 150 Johnson on the back of a 17' wellcraft? The transom is being replaced and adding extra support. It has a 93 merc 115 on it know with no problem. The merc weight 312/ 97 Johnson ocean runner 150 375. Comments welcomed

It's not the power it makes it's the extra weight on the back. Transfer some weight to the front of the boat and you should be fine.

You could also run some trim tabs.

I know my 15' marshrunner with a hopped up 40 isn't the same animal. But, trim tabs helped me a lot when I went from a 25 to a 40. Don't matter if I'm cruising at 35 or running wot at 52, it will lay down and run for me.

Mine are now fixed/adjustable. Did have the shocks on them. One went bad so I tried stainless turnbuckles in place of the shocks and like it more.
