Default Mower Question

Its time for me to buy a new zero turn mower. Ive had a gravely for the last 13 years is there any reason I should change brands? What do yall have, why do you like it, and would you buy that one again? TIA

I've got a Scag and have no complaints but, I've heard a lot of good things about Gravely.

Got a Kubota diesel, 5 foot cut. Cutting 4acres every 3 to 4 days. Does not burn much fuel at all. The bad part is, it is heavy, and will track a soft yard.

I bought a bad boy with the granmar seat. They advertise a 60 inch with a 27 kawasaki motor with 5 year warranty. I had narrowed it down to a badboy, gravely or exmark. Well harlow wouldn't talk price so i left and went to cutters. To make a long story short i bought one. I paid 5409 for a 50 inch with the best seat ($200) and tax incl. That was over $1,000 less than exmark. I wondered how they could sell them at this price. I found out the person who builds them has cut out the middle man. The delivery is what kills us!!! So i suggest badbay. It is a beast!!!!

Kubota diesel but a lil heavy. The motor will outlast any of the gas ones. I have the 54 inch deck, I think it will cut logs!! All the pro ones mentioned are good.

I regularly use ExMark, Gravely, and BadBoy. The BadBoy is the baddest of the bunch, I don't like the way you raise and lower the deck with a switch. Also it is like talking kayaks the Exmark and Gravely are like sittting in the machine and the BadBoy is like sitting on top of it. If I had to buy one I would get the Exmark, to me it is the best all around machine.

Did you get good service with who ever sold you the Gravely?

Service sells, whoever has the best service go with them.

I bought a Toro lawmower, the place I bought it from told me if I bought this Opti 4 oil and used it exclusively the warranty would go from 5 years to 10 years on anything the oil touched. I bought the oil and now have a 10 year warranty on my mower.

He also told me if it did not start on the 2nd pull to call him and he would bring me a replacemant mower while mines was being fixed and bring my mower back.

Service was so good I also bought an Echo string trimmer from him, it also come with the same service plan but the warranty is only 5 years, it's getting a little rough to start so I'll get him to come get it so it can get fixed.

I got a Hustler and love it, my dad also has a Hustler thats quite a bit bigger than mine, he loves it also. Dont think you can go wrong with most of the commercial series lawn mowers though they are pretty much all built well no matter the brand.

Gravely ZT HD 60. I cut about 2 acres with it at my house then my brother cuts about the same with it at his place every week! The thing is a beast for a residential style mower. Although it is in the shop because the muffler broke off.... Cutting a horse pasture is pretty rough though. Overall I love the damn thing and will buy another one the next time around as well.

My dad and grandpa both have the Bob Cat mowers and they are nice too, but I'm a Gravley man.

I have a lawn service and have a sag, gravely, and a bob cat. Hands down go with the bob cat. I have the 61 in cut with a 37horse kawsaki. It is a beast. Can't slow it down. It is just as fast as a dixie chopper. It can cut at full speed what a my scag with a brand new motor gets bogged down in cutting slow!! There is a place to get them in Rayne and lafayette.

Stay away from kohler engines on anything and I have a Dixie chopper and wouldn't own another, I have had gas and diesel kubota and they were both awesome to bushhog or Finnish cut with and I have had a Toro that was a good machine...... If you buy commercial you will be looking at Chevy,Ford, and Dodge but I repeat stay away from kohler engine

My buddy has a XMARK 60" for sale w/ 200 hrs and he is throwing a weed eater/edger in with the mower. Thing looks brand new reason he's selling is because he hired someone to cut his grass..
