This has been my worst duck season in a long time.
I killed more doves than ducks this year.
Saturday, we killed 2 at First Bayou across from Mud Lake.
Refuges were very slow for me. There is always next year.
Time for Fishing now.

This last weekend was our worst weekend of the season in PI. Afternoons have been the time to hunt our place last few weeks. I went solo fri afternoon and shot 2 mallards, 2 teal, and 2 spoons. Sat morning 5 of us killed 3 teal and a spoon. Sun morning 2 guys killed 1 mottle and 2 spoons. We have a piece of property that borders us to the east that no one hunts. Ducks have been pouring in there by the 1000s the last month. It killed us last few weeks. Hopefully next year someone hunts it.

A similar thing happens to my buddy, the ducks want to body up in the middle of the big pond. What about a duck scare crow - take some old camo and make a fake hunter. Robo hunter. It might work. HaHa!

had a buddy that threw out dekes and parked his boat next to his normal spot then went and hunted the other side of the pond where all the ducks had been landing on previous hunting days which was across from his normal spot, of course ducks then landed in his original spot with dekes

i posted a bunch pics of 2nd split last week b/c it got really slow the last week of the season i think it was our worst week of the season actually and pretty much ended a week early due to lack of flight... But still got close to 700 ducks(177 during teal season) and 3 geese on our lease in Pecan Island......Time to try some flooded timber on the east side

Not a bad idea. Problem is, it is a big section of property that isn't hunted for some odd reason. Would have to put out a few scarecrows.

To be honest I believe that sometimes it's better to have enough people hunting to keep bird's moving. We're about amileand ahalf from permitted hunting and on the day's that the day's when the permitted hunting is going on we limit very quickly. All in all it was not that bad of a year. Hopefully it will get better next year.

First Bayou on Friday with no other hunters close by two hunters killed 12.
Saturday from the same blind, we killed two. There were several other groups of hunters in the marsh (not too close). I hope that I am not the jinx.
