Default New Batteries - Great Deal

Just replaced all three batteries in my boat. I've got an optimax, so my starting battery needs at least 800 cold cranking amps. Not too many places have those, since most marine batteries are between 500 and 600. Interstate has them, as does Academy and Advance. The batteries at Academy are cheap, but you get what you pay for because they are lousy. But I had an email from Advance that said I could get 35% off my next purchase by using coupon code WD59.

Sure enough, I replaced the starting battery and the two deep cycles for a total of about $220. It was going to cost me about $450 at Interstate. So if anybody else is getting the boat ready for summer, just purchase the batteries on the website and put in coupon code WD59. Then you just drop by the store with your old batteries and pick up the new ones.

Starting Battery:

Deep Cycle Batteries:

With all three of those, it came out to $224. They also charge you $20 each for the core charge, but they give that back to you if you bring in your old batteries.

Not sure the make of your boat has any bearing on what type of battery you get

They must have changed up the warranty, cuz they only offer four years now. And at $300 a piece, they better last four years. I've pretty much given in on trying to have a super long lasting battery. Instead I'm replacing every two years whether they need it or not, and I have no trouble with the length of time I can run my TM.

I have been using the same AGM batteries for my TM for seven years (going on eight) and have never had a problem (YET). I also have never run them down to where I ran out of "juice" during a trip, but that may be because I never use them long enough. Bought them at Academy, but I don't remember the brand name. A side benefit is that I don't have to struggle to pull them out of the console to check/fill the fluid level. When these go, I will definitely replace them with more AGM's.

Code for $40 off 100 purchase. I use it all the time at advance auto.

TRT 41

Just google advanced auto coupons and they is a coupon for any amount. I never buy at regular price there. Just order online and pickup in store.

Deep cycle batteries will not last in starting duty. The plates are designed differently to handle the very large currently load over a short period. Deep cycle are designed for a moderate current load over a long period.
