My wife and I took my mother out to dinner at Capital Grille. Man, their dry aged porterhouse is unbelievable, and you can't get enough of the lobster mac and cheese. MmmmMmmmm

Capital Grille is my favorite place to eat. We try to go at least once a month. It ain't cheap, but life is short.

Capital Grille is awesome, I agree it is not cheap but the food is outstanding. Have you been to the Steamboat House by 249 and the beltway? It is a little less expensive than Capital Grille but yet still fairly pricey but the atmosphere is more casual. The food will surprise you, we go there as often as we can. I would put their steak up against the big boys. The link is below...

I had well over $100k at one point on one of my cards, but was able to pay it off in a few months and made around $40k off of it (essentially investing on margin ). I also charge everything on my AMEX (including paying many of my bills with it) and pay it off at the end of the month. My AMEX bill is typically $4k-$5k each month, but I rack up frequent flyer miles like crazy. I put a $350 dinner on it tonight and I'll get 350 miles for it. Why pay cash when there is no interest charge and you get miles?

The people who get in trouble are the ones who live beyond their means and rely on putting $1k or more on their cards each month just to get by. That gets out of control very quickly. I've seen some good people get in way over their heads that way.
Me too...I have had a lot of vacations paid for this way. Not only flights but hotel rooms also..

Earlier this year I received one of the new Cap One Venture cards, I get 2 miles for ever dollar spent. I run my firms monthly marketing budget and other expenses through it and earn enough points to get around $500 of gift cards every month, sometimes more.

I'll definitely check it out, Casey. Always looking for a good restaurant to throw into the mix. We typically go to Capital Grille, Vic and Anthony's, McCormick and Schmick, or Americas when we go out, so it would be nice to have somewhere closer to go.

As an FYI, I heard that AMEX is being dropped by Continental/United as of the end of August, so no more miles for me. I haven't decided which card I'll start using...gotta figure out which one still does Continental miles.

I have a TV in my office that I keep on Fox Business or CNBC, the President is talking right now, the market was at -375 when he started talking and it at -450 right now. When he threw out that those that can will pay their “fair share” it started to dive. Shut up please!!!

He has to get his jabs in no matter what. He wants us to be a united country yet he still can't stop throwing punches and looking to blame someone. That is not the mark of a leader.

oh, he is a leader ..............in a Jim Jones sort of way.........he has full crew of Moses Rose's to lead..........a bunch of cowards.

The sheeple he needs the most are the ones he is hurting the most and they do not even realize it.

This guy as I have said many times is the leading example of narrcissitic behavior in every way.

I came across The Bill Mahr show on HBO...that is a prime example of the problem with this country...He and his liberal cronies bashed a Tea Party rep for not wanting to tax the rich..."They'll never see it...millionare and billionares.

I made one great play this morning that netted me about $20k, then I made an equally horrible play that cost me $20.5k. Man, what a volatile session today! I tried to get in on KOG just before the closing bell but my last sale hadn't fully cleared yet. Maybe it'll open down another $1 tomorrow.
