Default Cracked crabs

What size/type of hook do you use for fishing cracked crab. I've never fished it and would like to try it any info or suggestions would be awesome.

Tried them before. The swim mullet or shrimp work much better.

Use a # 4 or 5 Kahle hook.

If the crab is med size or larger.....cut it in half. Stick the hook in next to one of the legs and then force the hook out through the shell.

If you are short on bait..... cut off the claws next to the body, and use a claw for bait.

If you have a small live crab......I pinch off the end of the claw so the crab can not pinch and then put it on a hook.

We've always used treble hooks. No clue what size.

We always hook them in the back corner. Some days they seem to prefer them with shells on and some days we shell them. Especially the bigger ones. Always remove pinchers also.
