Default Trailer Inspection

Do any of you guys get your trailers inspected?

Heard there is going to be a crack down on trailer inspections.

By law you are supposed to get any trailer you use on the road inspected yearly and the sticker should be carried somewhere so that no matter what vehicle you are towing trailer w/ you have it . Same place as you get your motor vehicle inspection

Yep, I was one of the ones getting a ticket 2 weeks ago. Trooper didnt say nothing about having my trailer inspected. In fact, didnt even ask for the trailer registration. Just ticketed me for not having my plate on my trailer(it was in my truck) and a light was out. I buy permanant plates too. I got 6 trailers. Dont wanna hafta pay for more inspections. I think we are just about the only state that even has registration on trailers. Just one big scham.

When I bought my Xpress boat 2 or 3 months ago the dealer didnt say anything about inspecting my trailer nor did the DMV, you would think they would tell you something like that, or when you buy a new boat and trailer they would have it inspected and ready for the road for ya!!

checking for plates, lights I guess...state don't give a crap if your trailer is street legal...if it touches the road they want their money.

Look at it like this, all that money being paid for inspections and what not is what keeps our South Louisiana roads nice and smooth. Who wants to guess where all this money goes? Greasing some pockets no doubt, not being put to good use.

Your trailer should come inspected when you buy it new. My inspection sticker was with my paperwork.
