Default Canals east of White Lake

Hello, New here

A friend of mine and his dad catfish the east side of White Lake (trot lines only). He said the canals on the east side of the lake usually have some clear black water and are supposed to be good for bass and white perch.

They launch at the pontoon bridge into what he calls the Old Intercoastal and run west to get to the lake. The canals that he is talking about come off of the Old Intercoastal.

Has anybody every fished the canals/marsh on the east side of the lake?
