Default Christmas Donations

Hey Salty Cajuns, I just wanted to throw out a suggestion. I know many of us are broke from sending our kids back to school but just wondering if anyone would be interested in adopting a family or just getting together and donating food and gifts to someone down on their luck this Christmas.

I will get with "W" if I can get him away from Ryan for a while and also get his blessing. I thought maybe we could tie our sponsers into this event since they are sponsoring this site and it would be a great way to do a good deed and also bring some attention to the Salty Cajun....

I'll do the leg work, I just want some feed back and again we have time that is why I'm throwing this suggestion out there early. Any and all suggestions or ideas are welcome, except "Salty's"

Excellent!!! A group of people back home used to do the same thing and it was a great deed. They often went through the Dept of Human Services to find their family/families. I guess it would be Child Protective Services here. PM me, BlueChip, and I'll fill you in on what they did and how they did it. I'd also gladly work on corporate and personal donations from the east side of things.

Default helpin out

As long as it's a family who really needs i'm in. around here ya got folks drivin caddys and goin to the casina every payday that are allways beggin for help.
We did this thru my wifes work 2 Christmas ago and found out later that we had been scammed by 2 of the 6 familys we helped.
needless to say we are very leary about giving . If ya'll know the family or can check them out we'd be more than willing to help out.

It does surely take some research. I'm with ya on the leary part though. I'd like to think that people that pull stunts like that have a suite in Hell just waiting for them to quit wasting our oxygen!

Often times, the group I volunteered with went off of referrals from neighbors, teachers, etc...

Sounds like a good idea...

I hear that. All you can do is hope and pray that it goes to those that are truly in need.
I would love to be a part of this, let me know what I can do.

I don't want to feed a family who is tooo lazy to work.
I don't mind helping the needy. Not the lazy.

I'm in. My wife is a teacher and some of the things she tells me really makes you stop and realize how good we have it.
