A survey is much cheaper than repairing a delaminated hull, broken stringers, water logged/rotten transoms, missalligned engines/shafts or many other issues a boat like that can have. A BROKER WILL TELL YOU ANYTHING HE CAN TO SELL A BOAT

Nice boat but I wouldn't buy a big boat without a survey. To many expensive what ifs. Also gives you bargaining chips with the seller. Like a home inspection helps give fuel for concessions during final negotiations of a house.

Ratdog, don't even consider a final contract on that boat without a survey and oil analyst on the DDs and the genny! There will be issues and that's where you start discounting that contract price...heavily! I've seen 30% discounted from contract price. This step is the most important in your boat purchase. Good advice from other posts. Careful with your broker during this step...they good at sugar coating problems!

Yes but is hard to find a good surveyor I've gone through one motor surveyor now now im looking for another one. Thank you guys I posted this as I was starting the survey process. I would never by a boat without a survey and my insurance guy required a full survey. Thanks again

Ratdog, where is the Hat docked at? If anywhere in LA I can tell you who not to use! Do you have an anchor roller and lectric/hydraulic windlass on that boat? Can't see above the bow.
