3 sec holeshot with a four stroke on a bay boat that size is impressive.

All newer motors have there own problems, period. Good thing is they come with a great warranty. Mercury is scratching there heads trying to make something to compare to this engine.

The only reason the OPTI Obama Max is on the market is because it is a cheaply priced motor and due to the weight. A Yamaha 150 four stroke cost more than the the Obama-Max 200 Hp. Also, you can put it on boats that you could not put conventional strokes based on the same HP due to the weight of the motor. With all things now equal,+maybe+besides+price+why+go+with+a+2+stroke+ over+a+4+stroke.++I+bet+the+Opti+Obamas+have+recen tly+dropped+in+price....LOL....

I disagree, optimax is a great motor even though I prefer yamaha. We see wildlife and fisheries opti's with ALOT of hours still running great. I will run a carb 2 stroke as long as possible, most reliable.

Not saying the OptiBama is a bad motor.....just stating the fact of why you see them.......in the end if the 2 motors are priced closed to the same......which one would you pick????? I will not lie, I have an Aluminun bay boat only because I wanted a 22' foot boat......with tax new I paid 28K. You will not pick up a 22' glass+boat+new+for+less+than+36k+or+more........++

Likely I could of. But I had a boat to trade in so it was one of those kind of deals....love my boat but would I rather a glass boat...yes......
Also, I am not one to buy used stuff unless I know the exact history of the boat........that is just me......most of the time you buy used.....especially a boat you get screwed quickly......

If you buy a quality boat you will not have problems like that....LMAO J/K dude. Just get you a above deck 30 gallon for now, hell with it. Atleast you could still use it. I might have one somewhere you can use...

Man that sucks....hope it does not cost you too much and good luck....BTW, I have an iusse with my boat. However, since I brought it new all cost is covered. I am just one of those that rather pay more and buy new since if an issue comes up........zero cost........
