Cheers Vermillion Bay Limits Nov 01

Was looking to get in one last trip before heading offshore, and was torn between making a trip to the bay and checking out some of my sac-a-lait holes...Boy did I make the right call...Got in weeks bay early this morning to catch the falling tide, and got a 2 man limit between 7:30 and 8:45...Played catch and release for about a 1/2 hr, then decided to head in early to clean fish...All fish caught on salt/pepper/chartreuse tail deadly dudleys rigged tandem...Had them coming in two at a time...Great morning to be on the water!

Man that's a nice mess of fish, Planing on bring my father fishing in the morning was going to go to B.L. but I really don't want to make that drive. Not looking for your spot but where is weeks bay? I normally dock at the state park in C.P. and head to the pass or T.B. What about the pass or T.B is it worth the run?

Was pretty bad, there was already about 10 boats in weeks bay right at sun up! Beat the traffic though, was on my way in when boats were still heading out! I tell you though, today was quite pleasant, was the second boat on a group of birds, 10 trout later had about 8 boats working them, and everyone was very respectful...

From Quintana Canal, go right to the state park, and enter shark bayou...go through shark bayou it will empty into weeks bay...From there you can fish the east bank or tack NW to Mud Pt (Trash Pile)...Look for all the boats...They are also catching fish in the cove right now....There is no reason to run to the pass this time of year.....IF the bite is slow though and you want to put your father on some fish, make the short run to Dry Reef and fish dead shrimp on the bottom....You will load the box with a mixed bag of reds, white trout, drum, flounder, and croaker....Good luck!!!
