Default Weirs

Does anyone know if the weirs on the SE end of big lake have been open lately (grand bayou, etc). Is there any way to know when they are open? Thanks for any help.

They open and close the weirs for several different reasons. Manage the salinity in the marsh is definitely one of them.

W, do you think it'll be too fresh to catch reds at the weirs at the end of the week. Finishing up school Thursday and really want to find something to catch on Friday.

Have no clue really , I know the tide has been super high and haven't really heard if anyone has been catching reds at weirs are behind ...

The WLF biologists were at landing doing fish counts one day can't recall but for the number of boats out they did not have many fish caught so figured they are not catching good right now

Went to first and second set of weirs in big lake Thursday. Water coming out like Niagria falls. Caught my five reds but it wasn't quick. Heard they were catching in black bayou
