Spicers landing is real close.
They have some really good maps in Carlyss at fishermans corner (Valero). It's a canal with several turnoffs, I would get a map.

Its being dredged this year so its prolly shot for awhile. If i was you I would find someone that knows there way in there. It would be easy to lose a motor in there.

If I can remember correctly I used to launch at Ellanders and head west going back under the bridge and you go around two really sharp curves and you'll come to what looks like a major canal to the left. Take that all the way till you come to a 4 way and take a right. That will take you right into black lake. Lots of water up to that point. When you get to the lake be carefull with all the well heads and pipe lines and crab traps. I never did any good there. Few reds and flounder.

Take a right where teh 4 come together.

Black Lake is good certain times of the year. Be very careful as there is a ton of crap in the lake.

What he said! I wouldn't go back there without someone who knows where they are going. One wrong turn and you're in a few inches of water....

I know it fairly well. After next weekend, I hope to be fishing more. We can try and make a trip if you want to. Although, I plan on staying on the Bend when the sacalait start which should be soon. Don't know if you can do an afternoon trip on a weekday, but those are easy for me.
