Default Wade fishing question.

Never done it except in the surf, but it seems all the rage in TX. Do you feel you catch more or better quality trout wade fishing versus out of a boat. What advantages does it have? Seems like I a can cover more area in a boat by drifting or trolling.

Sometimes it isn't about covering water. If you are wading besides the obvious that you are a little more stealthy. You are forced to pick a area apart cast by cast. You tend to pay more attention to how you are working the lure. It just brings it back it back to just fishing. When you are in a boat you keep thinking about moving and messing with things. This is the case for me anyway.

Be careful where you jump out of the boat. Not all bottoms are made the same

for me wading is all about quality fish. like clampy said you spend an hour fishing a spot where you would generally make one drift in a boat. the fish in my avatar was caught on what seemed to be the 100th cast in the same spot then bam fish on.

That's a shame about Sabine Lake. Used to be a good fishery.

Toledo Dam is where all the trout are now. Thought this was common knowledge.
