Default Bought Out

Found out this morning that we (RSC) was bought out by United Rental. Hopefully this is a good thing and not a bad one. I guess we will find out.

Hope everything goes well, transfer of power doesn't mess anything up, and hoping they keep all the employees! Best of luck to you.

you are likely safe if you are not in middle management.
If you are, start looking to maybe take a title step back.

I know for years in our industry, we tossed the middle managers, kept the ground forces and bought out the nimrods that forced the company to have to sell.

unless RSC is selling to make a fortune for it's shareholders of course.
Now is not the time to sell if you are doing well in my opinion.

Industrial contracts are one of the main reasons we were bought out.

United Rentals wanted them, but we have such a good reputation/relationship with the refineries it was hard to get their foot in the door.

Instead of fighting with us, they bought us. But that's just my opinion...

Work at National Pump and Compressor. Read about this first thing this morning. United Rentals purchased our sister company Gulfstar at the first of the year. They're definitely making moves. From what ive heard U.R. Is a good company to work for.

I use RSC allot, you guys do a great job, I have never had a problem with a piece of equipment, and my sales rep is top notch... Most of our business is done via email, never have to pick up the phone...

Good luck with the merger, I hope its painless for you guys...
