No Firearms during Bowseason?
1. Why does Louisiana not allow it? 2. Is there anything we could do to change it? 3. Does a CCW permit allow an outdoorsman to supercede this State Hunting law? For this discussion please disregard .22 rimfire with #9 ratshot (I know this is allowed)... I'm talking about packing a real pistol/revolver for protection or emergency. |

I've also thought about your same questions.. With the hog population exploding everywhere, I'd sure like to have one on me. Never had or heard of any on my place until this year, got 2 on camera .. Person that hunts less than a mile from my property, across a small bayou killed one over 400lbs and gets pics @ his feeder of up to 20 @ a time.

Of coarse I did not look like Jesse James with my piece hanging off my side. I kept it concealed. A little common sense goes a long way. Besides, I have a hard enough time killing a deer with a bow or a rifle.....there is no worries of me hitting one with a handgun lol.... |

Seems like any logical game warden would understand a side arm and not right you up. But I guess there is always those few...

You ARE NOT allowed to hunt on a WMA with a pistol unless there is a season open which allows this caliber to be used. |
