Default duck hunt

Decided to put the rifle down and grab the shotgun the other day. First duck hunt I ever made on my property and really enjoyed it. IF I knew what the hell I was doing or even had a clue as to how to call it would have been easy limits of mallards. Finished with a limit of wood ducks and few greenheads and hens. Saw tons of ducks but everytime they would circle and act like they would land they would flare off.

Honestly, the only reason I decided to hunt them was because of how loud they were and they were messing up my deer hunting. Mallards have to be the loudest duck around when feeding.

It really was cool. I have some sloughs that are filled with hardwoods so they are loaded with pecan and acorns. When the River gets up the sloughs fill up. The ducks were going down like crazy but we(my cousin and I) were somewhat out in the open. We were leaning against cypress tress trying to hide but after a circle they could see us. He(my cousin) hunts ducks much more than I ever had so he got a few in and had some of the needed gear, a few decoys, strap for dead ducks etc. .

hunting timber like that, you only need a few decoys. Also stand with the sun behind you, and dont move, they wont be able to see you.

Haha that's great. Wish I had that problem at my deer lease.
