It's a tough game but the Tors defense is having serious issues giving up the big play to Holy Cross.

It was a good game. Sulphur beat themselves w turnovers!! That running back has a lot of potential. Hope he realizes that.

#15 for holy cross is a Georgia commit and their #3 running back is a div-1 recruit now as a jr. Ran a 4.3 at a camp this summer.

Our #3 Derrick Guillory rushed for 360 yards last night! HC is supposed really good this year. Sulphur has improved a lot the last 2 games.

Sulphur also had 10- sophomores and freshman playing in that game. That's a lot of under class men for 5-A ball.

Ultimately 0-2 for a town that has a school the size of two 5A schools

Sulphur is way better than they have been. They are young and going in the right direction. Complaining about where you think they should be is pointless. All they can do is build on what they have and they are definitely doing that.

I think they are leaps and bounds better but for the size school they are a lot of talent goes unnoticed. They just can't get back to that Elite level cause of the Politics. When they have 100 kids in a freshman team they play and work with the ones they know. They should stomp some of these schools like Catholic.

Politics??? Come on man!
The head coach has about 8 freshman traveling with the varsity this year. He is bringing the young talent along and coaching them up. You do realize this is the head coaches (Wainwrights) second year, right?

Default Sulphur High Football Rules!!!!

I'm glad to hear they are looking better, but that's a whole lotta Freshman and Sophmores on the field. I heard Football was no longer the "cool" thing to do @ Sulphur, and the Freshman and Sophmore players support what I heard. It does not matter how much the town wants a team to win if the highly athletic players choose not to play. Maybe interest has picked up, we shall see.

Like I said winning speaks I hope Wainright can get em there but ultimately the fact they have to play Freshman and Sophmores says something. And I know it's Wainright second year but his whole staff is the same including the head coach that he replaced stayed. Usually at schools that win they replace head coach he builds his staff.

Default Sulphur football

Sulphur scored 21 pts in the last five minutes of the game in a win over new Iberia high last night. Derrick Guillory rushed for 225yds. That puts him over 1000yds in 4-games! Pretty good stat.

It doesn't happen overnight. Being competitive with a young team says you are doing it right. The reason they've been losing is players not coaching. They are going the right way. Might get a playoff game this year, might not. Watch out the next 3 yrs they will be good.
