Teal report

I haven't heard any good reports. There are a couple spotty rice fields holding a few birds but nothing like this time last year. Rode to Johnson bayou last week worked in the marsh then drove to thornwell after that. Didn't see one teal. With no weather change and the full moon on the 19th it might be a slow weekend for a lot of ppl.

Saw about 50-60 early last week in Gueydan. Last week we were seeing less than 10 birds a day at our place in Kaplan. I was out there for shooting time on Sunday and didn't see a one. Went Brush a blind yesterday afternoon late and same thing. I'm worried at this point. If your taking about pine island south of Kaplan Casey I went do a job out that way yesterday. Saw two off 693 and that was it.

Heard of a couple fields NW of Crowley that were stacked... from what was said, these couple fields are loaded every year and hardly ever get hunted. Went to our field this past weekend north of Kaplan and saw a few... not as many as I saw a week ago.

I've heard of a FEW good reports. Overall though, as far as farms that are historically loaded this time of year, it's not looking so hot. They'll be here though, nothing wrong with a good push in the middle of the season. I'd rather this than have them all here at the beginning of the month.

And we don't need fronts to push them. Fronts do help out a little, but they are photo-migrators. They start heading south when the days start getting shorter, not totally reliable upon the weather

No. But a north wind does help. I look for a good push next week when that moon swells up

Had buddies hunting in Arkansas this past weekend. Didn't kill a bird. Last year they smashed em everyday. Too dry in southeastern Arkansas. Game warden checked them Sunday and told them he hadn't talked to anyone who had killed any birds.

Checked out my lease South of Kaplan. I go there about 6pm to check out our water level since the landowner started to pump on WED. I saw several big flocks flying from North to South and others flying from East to West.

Sounds like I made a good decision to go run dogs in TX this weekend instead of hunt. Good luck to everyone, I haven't heard any good reports.

No big concentrations in the Ville Platte area, too dry not nearly the amount of water as last year.

But wouldn't it being dry like everyone is saying help out those that have water? Still, people with water aren't seeing many birds. I hope they get here soon. I can only hunt the first 7 days then I will be stuck at work.
