Default Oil out of Cameron

We ran offshore today and coming back, 8-12 miles out of Cameron, we started to see large red globs sacherating large clumps of grass. Guy I was with who works in the oilfield immediately recognized it was oil and alot of it. Stretched far on a rip, smell it clearly. 80 percent was on grass, other was isolated.
Then we came in 2 more miles and came on more grass with even more matts of crude. Another man was a captain with the pilots assoc. and marked these areas to call WLDF & USCG.. Oil is close..

Smoked some triple tail, and was happy as a clam. Saw all this and we all did not talk till we got to Heberts...

Ray, who do you know that works on the pilot boats?

My paw-in-law is one of the pilot boat captains and is also the cameron parish Constable.

They also had two giant tankers, stationary, 3 miles out around the buoy chains.
Might of been on standby?,but when the oil price fluctuates rapidly they will also waight there..

Is there a plan in place to keep the oil offshore and not allow it to enter Big Lake? I suppose the only way is to shut the ship channel down and I am sure they won't have the nads to do that given the economic cost. But I sure hope they do!

there are booms in place that will be stretched across the jetty, but be manned and have gates to allow ships through

Also heard from a first-hand source that it was a rumor. The media is destroying this here for the lake.

Never gonna happen. What they would do is only allow ship traffic on an outgoing tide.

Cameron OEP is working on a plan. They have been working with the National Guard
and the State of La. since the oil hit the beaches at Grand Isle.
