I've had several of them get in the shop already. Sucks but, its pretty much a death sentence for em because they can never find their way back out.

I seen a couple buzzin around the house before I left for work last week...time to fill up the feeders...Southern, when they get caught in my shop I get two ladders and another person with dip nets and we catch and release them that way...

My shop is 10k sq feet with 18' walls. It's a little tough to get em in there. Plus I doubt my ins co would be real thrilled to hear that was the reason that one of my employees fell off a ladder! Lol

I've been feeding the ones at my house for over a month now. They pretty much go through 2 feeders a week.

I guess I need to put out my feeder.

When I was working in our fab shop a humming bird got hung up in some spider webs and couldn't fly. My and a co-worker cleaned the webs off of it and it took off without a problem.

Had one stuck in the garage yesterday. Netted him and released to fight another day.

The ruby-throats are what we get mostly, but in the winter lately people that keep out their feeders are seeing about 5 different species of what are typically 'western' hummingbirds. Birds aren't migrating all the way down to Central/South America, they are 'shortstopping' (similar to what Ducks Unlimited has been doing for years to keep ducks out the south). Been well documented, there is a lady that bands them.

My grandmother used to tell us they rode on the backs of geese!
