Default Ducks, in Texas???

I would have never thought that almost two hours west of Dallas I would find ducks. Much to my dismay it was loaded. You don't see anything flying around at all, then all of sudden they are in the hole getting ready to land. So to say the least it was pretty cool hunting over there. Here are a few pics...

Nice! A buddy and I shot 3 pintails the other day at our lease in southwest Texas few weeks back. Hole I was hunting looked alot like that one. We also shot 20 doves off the tailgate of my truck and 4 quail.

Nice!! I seen a MOJO outdoors hunting flooded timber around that area. You couldn't kick the ducks out of there.

That first pic....all the way to the left that looks like the speculum of either a black duck or a mottled. Do you recall what you killed there? I didn't know if very many mottleds made it that far north.

I'm on my phone and I can't zoom in, but it is probably a mallard hen I know we didn't kill any blacks and I'm pretty sure no mottled either.

Yeah, the speculum looked deep purple. It is probably just the way the duck is facing though. Sometimes those blue speculum's look purple if they are angled just right.
