Guys looking to make a trip to Grand Isle this summer.. how many miles offshore for good Tuna fishing in the summer..

70-80 out to The Green Canyon and if you can find some shrimp boats trawling, you gotta good chance to hook a few chumming behind them.

Night trips to the floaters can been good, around a full moon. I like doing that with 2 boats for safety though.

And watch out for those 'YFs' caught on the beach...
Had a guy pull up to the cleaning tables last summer, all excited with his front deck covered with 'yellowfin tuna'.
Yep, all Jack Crevalle ... he ignored all comments and was determined to clean them.
C'mon, Mais, look at 'dem yellow fins...

It is a much shorter run out of Venice
You are also in protected water 1/2 of the way
