Default Big lake troubles

Went to big lake today and struck out. Tried a few different spots and threw everything we had at them. Anyone have any tips on spots to try and/or lures/bait to use?

Targeting what? Launching from? Willing to run to the weirs? Willing to run across rough water?

Others may have input, but I'd fish the weirs with live shrimp under a popping cork and a second shrimp (dead is ok) on the bottom. I'd also keep at least one cracked crab on the bottom. When the water is muddy, fishing is more of a scent and sound based deal. Sight based techniques require much more finesse in muddy water.

South side BL. If you aren't an avid angler then live shrimp under a cork

We were on the lake at day break. No go at Turner's Bay due to the murky water. We adjusted and tried Black Lake with the intention of finding clear, calm water. Found both, but caught nothing. Better luck next time.
