Default Miami Corp. / "Burns" 6/21/2016

Got a late start due to rain. Fished 5:45pm-8pm.
Went back to same spot I had done well at on 6/19. The bass weren't stacked up there this time, and garfish had moved in. I didn't see a single gar there two days ago.
Caught 7, kept 6 using a Stanley Ribbit, a Zoom Horny-Toad and lizard.
Marsh fishing puzzles me more than river or lake fishing.

I find it odd that they move around that much , how's the water level out there? Above normal?

We went out yesterday afternoon also and waited under the bridge for about 45 minutes til the rain slacked off. I have rarely see the marsh this calm.

We found some hanging in the main trails but most were smaller. We didn't run back to our normal spots bc we didn't want to get caught by some of the showers moving across the marsh. Most of the fish we caught seemed to be hanging around trail mouths and where the water was moving through an area. We ended with 8 but was half way through cleaning them before I realized I didn't take a photo. Still wasn't a bad way to kill a few hours.

Very nice. I may have seen you at the launch.
Did y'all happen to notice a reduction in the amount of salvinia out there anywhere? Supposedly, Miami Corp has released weevils that eat salvinia as their primary food source.

I thought it looked like there was less the other day. I also saw what looked like a crusty-brown dying boat trail.
If they would do a little bit of dredging out there I wouldn't have any gripes. Like dredging the east-west trail that connects the front to the back.

Most areas we have fished haven't had much salvinia so I can't say whether it has decreased or not. I did find one trail that was choked solid but that was the only one. I just assumed it blows in and out of areas. The west side of the marsh seems to have less of it than further east.
