Water was pretty clear. 9-12 inches deep. I had my 5 year old. Bite was early for about 90 minutes. the 2 boats and i looked to have 35-40 trout among us.

it got hot quick. Cant wait for september... Be careful out there folks by the way, the game warden was out giving tickets...

Uhhh...yeah....and don't go on the refuges before official sunrise.

Actually the GW was very nice...informed me that I was 7 minutes early...let me off with a warning (I thought it was daylight to dark but I was wrong)...and gave me a comprehensive current fishing report which we utilized in our plans and came home with some nice trout and a bonus incidental bull red. If you want his report I suggest you go to the west VB conservation camp a few minutes before sunrise and officer Sonnier will greet you; you can inquire directly.

I almost got one. I show up my lights don't work. Thank god I had my Coleman led lantern. Put that sucker between us in the back and shown it backward. The 2 elderly men who launched out of icy before me got the ticket.
