Default Lake Fausse Point

Hit the lake this past Friday morning. The water was about 2' - 2'-6" higher than normal. I don't think I've ever seen it that high. We were able to find some descent water. At one point we were on them pretty good, catching them back to back for about an hour. After that, it was one here, one there. We started the day about 7 am and ended it around 2 pm. Came home with 25 bream, sac-a-lais, goggle-eye and catfish. We caught almost the whole time. There were a bunch that we threw back that were questionable, maybe another 1" or so and we would have kept them. It was a good day out the office for my son's b-day.

Sounds like a fun day. I have been wanting to fish there just wary of water depths.

Around the state park you are pretty safe, Dautrieve lake is deep, as long as you don't cut straight across main lake between north and south end of Bird Island Chute you'll be fine. I started fishing around park and ventured out after a couple years and talking to anglers. It's a lake that you can't expect big numbers of fish but there are some quality fish there to be caught. I fish sac a lait 99% of the time I'm there and have caught average 1#-1.5# fish. If I go and catch 12-15 fish I consider it a good day there.
