I have a NEF single shot with a bull barrel. I love it but don't get to shoot it much. I just use it knocking around.

I have the exact one also w/o the bipod... love it... Got one because I saw a buddy put down a 60 lb hog like a sac of potatoes with it at 70 yards. Still can't believe that a bullet that small can do that much damage. just a suggestion shoot the rabbits and squirrels in the head, you don't want to ruin too much meat.

I love my 17!!!!!! I have the Savage with a Nikon 3X9X40 on it. That thing is DEADLY accurate! I haven't had a chance to really stretch it out yet past 200 yds but can't wait to get to.

BTW, I have found that the polymer tips shoot a lot more consistently that FMJs.

Absolutely. The ballistic tips are the siznit. It will reachout ta 300 yards with very lil if any deflection. These rounds are crazy fast

Was in North Dakota a couple years back, smoked a porcupine out of a tree, ranged him at 248 yards. Rifle is in a Ruger M77. The rifle cracked then you heard the thump, he folded up. Then sat & shot prairie dogs at about 100yds for a couple hours, Man.... when that little bullet hits em they explode It was kewl!!!!!!!!

We shot clays last weekend at a friend's house. There was a large dirt mound out there that kept getting small chunks of clays on it. I used my .17 to clean the mound of the chunks. I had everybody out there wanting to go buy one when they saw just part of what that thing is capable of!

I have one of these savage's also. Very accurate little rifle.
The only problem is the clip on the bolt action. They are a piece of junk.
You have to hold the clip up on mine to bolt the bullet in the barrel.
It has slack in it and the bullet won't line up with the barrel.
Brand new rifle, sitting in the gun cabinet. The last savage I will ever buy in my life. I promise.
