Default Hard to steer to the left

I have a 250 sea chaser bay boat with a 250 suzuki. It is very hard to turn to the left. Turns real easy to the right. I guess it has something to do with engine torque. It has a 3 blade suzuki prop, jack plate and trim tabs. I have to be going about 40mph before it gets easier. At 40mph you aint turning much. I am told by some people that a 4 blade prop would make it easier to turn? Jusy need some ideas. It has hyd. steering.
What about the little trim fin on the cavitation plate of the motor?

You sure it's not a steering problem?

The torque created by the direction of rotation of the propeller makes it harder to turn left. That is why the motor always pulls to the right if unattended.

You have to stand on my steering wheel to make my boat turn left when running on plane. It was like that with the 3 blade and still the same with the 4.

I have a 250 yama and with a sea star and have no problem turning either was. I know suzukis have a lower ratio lower unit and a diffrent type of prop may be the issue.

No not yet. I wasnt sure if that would help. Would that make it turn left better? I thought it stopped it from pulling, if u let the wheel go. Mine tracks straight.

I think you are right. Lower gears and a 16 inch prop where as the yamaha has a 15. I guess that could make a diff.

Install it and and turn your tab on the motor to the right a few degrees it should eliminate most of the torque.
