I tried what I think ur speaking of. It's way to light for my taste. I'm not a huge poppin cork fan and with a spin cast with the wind 10lb super slick it won't go nearly as far as a 1/8 oz jh with a baby sparkle beetle on a Curado 50e in same conditions.

Best way to learn Big Lake is ...as per a Texans told me in Cocahoes one afternoon


Just look for boats and where you see one catching troll with in 100 feet and mark on GPS .. You can map the whole lake on one Saturday in June!!

Without knowing where the reefs are that does not leave you much options. Other than just beating the banks. Most of the good reefs are way off the bank and if you don't know where they at you will never find em. Might get lucky and see birds working or slicks pop up.

Shoot if you wanna learn the lake, just follow Bruce Baugh around black lake and mark his wade spots once he leaves!

When I first moved down here, my uncle in N La told me he had me a present and emailed me that very map. Said his buddy had heard I was moving down south and to give this to me. Said he got it from a guide on Big Lake He thought he had given me a pot full of gold or something
