Default Duck lease questions

I am interested in finding a lease around Hackberry since I have a camp nearby. I don't know anybody in the area as far as landowners or land managers. I am willing to wait for a good lease if anyone knows of a spot coming available. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I have been a guest on several great hunts near Johnson bayou but no openings there. I am hopeful something will open up fairly close to hackberry.

You could just hunt Sabine. Of course it's public....and no need to go into the challenges with that. I do hear that lots of ducks die there.

Nobody will ever pay 8mil for that place. It needs 2mil or work and with the up keep and property taxes it will loose money for a long time. Jimmy looked into it and figured out even if he could raise the money it was just a tax write off.

Just get a dog and a surface drive with a pop up blind and hunt Sabine. Literally perfect scenerio

If hunting Sabine is that get up at 2:30 in the morning, wait in line, lots of work type hunt I may be too old and fat to handle it! And I certainly am out on the 8 million dollar hunt!

That's the exact type of hunt, but don't forget the shotgun start, and unlit boat and pirogue dodge session tagged along with the late runner up mud motor man that flies through your decoys that you had just set up for an hour.

It wont be easy finding a lease but they make life much easier!

Holly Beach marsh would be an option. Not great but you will kill ducks.

Now with runnin in the marsh if you have the above listed, there is little work involved for the laid back hunter.
Throw decoys from boat, hunt from boat, let dog get birds. Can't help you on the people though. There are some true works of art out there...

I have spent most of my carreer logging in East Texas. I am sure the guys in the marsh during duck season are similar to the people we find in the woods during deer season. At least the marsh is public. Most of the people we find are poachers.
