Default Grand Isle

Sitting in the camp at Grand Isle waiting for the weather to let up. Unbelievable winds - sounds like a hurricane from inside the camp so we're having a hurricane party. Reports from those who did head out are not good. We're staying at one of the camps on the beach at Bridgeside and watching the fools trying to go out the pass, turn around and head back in. Can't wait to launch the boat if it eases up. Between showers, I've been doing some surf fishing. Baits there, but the seaweed is atrocious. Hope things turn around soon!!

Nothing to write home about....did ok Friday afternoon. Couldn't get on anything substantial Saturday at all. Sunday morning produced 1 keeper trout. Covered a ton of ground. Found tons of bait, just couldn't get on a bite. Only place we didn't try was Elmers

The weather finally cleared. Been out behind the island. Nothing. In the surf. Nothing. Not giving up. Taking a little break and headed back out. Wind still blowing good. Anyone still on the island?

We left em biting - somewhere else. Seriously, though, we went to Bird Island this morning and got on them right away. Didn't have to measure them. That bite shut down quickly, though. We looked to the north of there and saw some birds working. Caught some under there. The wind started to pick up again. We headed to the backside of the island, but nothing biting. All the reports we were hearing from around the island were the same, except for one guide who came in and said he caught 50. Also saw some yellowfin being brought in to Bridgeside. Watching the surf right now and it's pretty rough.
