The water is not very salty right now in prien, but if you are looking to bowfish you should not have a problem finding any redfish or flounder. The water was not very good Sat but I have not been since then, so it could be clearing up. Try the islands around prien and the ship channel, all have sandy/grassy ledges perfect for ambushing reds and flounder at night.

does it tend to get REALLY shallow with low tide or can you still access most areas?
DMTFISH, thanks for always being super informative, i wish i fished during daylight hours so i could give you reports, if/when we make it up there, i'll be sure to let you know how we do all we target is flunder/reds/occasional alligator gar, the only fish you can legally kill besides sheephead, etc. |

They haymark area would probably be pretty good for this... fairly shallow but manageable.

i'll have to pull up a map, sometimes we go in a legit gator tail rig which allows us to basically go anywhere that is "wet" . other times we are in a small outboard which cant travel in less than a foot or so of water

If you are looking to target shallow reds I would think Bayou Dinde, Old River area, or Haymark would be your best bets. Even Country club marsh area.

appreciate the heads up, i'll have to pull up some maps because i'm really only familiar with Oyster Bayou/West Cove area but i'm looking to find places further north bc it will shorten up my travel drastically, as long as it's clear water, we tend shoot a good bit of fish, once again, thanks guys!
