Default Fishing story #1

Saw a couple of boats in Prien Lake, one towing in the other.
The one towing had his trolling motor down and running big motor, but not fast.
I told Tightline11 that it was funny they had the trolling motor down. Didn't think nothing more about it.
Trailer was backed in the water, they threw the line back to the broke down boat and proceeded to load the boat on the trailer.
I left, soon as I got on Prien Lake Rd., got a call. They loaded the boat half way on the trailer, with trolling motor down. Couldn't get all the way on the trailer, but couldn't get off the trailer either.

I am thinking about bringing out a picnic basket of food and an ice chest of beer and watching people launch and retrieve boats tomorrow. Can I do that at a public launch?

Ray.... I can't tell you how many beers we drank this summer at the bottom of Cochoes watching people load boats on a saturday

You want to see some boats getting loaded sideways.... Hitting the trailer poles .....hitting other boats going in reverse ....

Pilgrim village at 12-3pm on Saturdays at Heberts landing June, July ,August

Last Spring while waiting to load my boat I watched a man at Prien Launch back his 25 ft. offshore boat with a custom cover on it. When the boat started down the ramp it started to pick up speed and just pulled the Chevy Surburban with all 4 tires sliding until the boat motors cowlings (2 motors) was about to go under, He tried to pull back up the ramp but just spun so I drove down ramp, hooked tow line and pulled him up. Well, he never pulled the custom cover off all Winter and he had his boat parked half under the eve of his house and never pulled the plug. It was so full of water that the tires were rubbing the top of the finders.

Thats a good rule of thumb right there.

Not always, but what I have noticed is that the bigger the boat, the bigger the idiot who is driving it, with no respect towards other boaters
